lauren amt

Lauren Amt is a licensed architect in Illinois.  Her background of architectural projects includes a range of institutional, government, hospitality, educational, and residential design.  Before returning to Searl Lamaster Howe Architects, she worked on the Herbert Bayer museum and Mountain Club in Aspen, and has worked on several residences in Wisconsin, Michigan, and downtown Chicago.  Previous work during her career in Washington, DC includes government buildings and higher education, high school, and preparatory school academic buildings, laboratories, and athletic facilities.  She has volunteered as a panelist with AIAS and mentored in Architecture in Schools program to educate students about the profession. 

Lauren received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University School of Architecture before moving to DC, relocating to Chicago four years later.  She spent two years exploring and practicing in the Rockies before returning to Chicago and continues to enjoy backpacking adventures with her husband and two dogs.  In her free time, she loves exploring the outdoors, traveling, and kicking back with a good beer.
